With 24pp publisher's catalogue bound in at end. MICHAEL CHERNIAVSKY'S COPY WITH HIS SIGNED INSCRIPTION ON FRONT FREE ENDPAPER. Anderson's major survey was first published in 1896. A second edition (incorporating a table of principal buildings) followed in 1898 and was reissued in 1900. The present edition is the largest and best, with a considerably enlarged quota of plates and illustrations. Michael Theodore Cherniavsky (1920-1992) was a renowned and long-serving (1948-1966) master of history at Christ's Hospital School and subsequently Professor of History at the University of Waterloo, Ontario from 1967 to 1983. A lovely copy.
