Tehran, Kanun-i Ma'rifat. 1951. iv, 275pp, many portrait illustrations from photographs, facsimiles. 8vo/22cm. Green blind-stamp decorated cloth gilt, light wear, ink notations on about twenty five pages (mainly translations into English of Farsi words), spine a little weak toward back but otherwise clean and very good. Text in Persian/Farsi. The pencilled title on the endpaper, possibly by the British seller, is slightly different from the LC listing, i.e. "Natter-i- Farsi yi Mu'aser". This book was an assigned text for Professor Anne Lambton's Persian language class at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University, in the fifties. The notations were by one of her students. Scarce.
