Decorative cloth, light soil and rubbing, joints tender with some splits, library stamp/bookplate of August W. Burgracher, otherwise internally clean, tight and very good. Jacob Abbott (1803-1879) was a prolific author of great men biographies and other popular works. The Library of Congress lists nearly three hundred title. Schwarz, Bibliotheca Mongolica No 1339 does not give this work high marks.
