Illustrated card wrappers (map showing Pakistan, Usmanistan and Bang-i-Islam), minor spotting, few closed edge tears, light stain on front, internally clean, tihht and very good. A spirited account of the role of Choudhary Rahmat Ali (1879-1951) in the creation of the Pakistan movement when he was a post-graduate student at Cambridge University in the early thirties where he founded his "Pakistan National Movement" in 1933. The author who seems to have been closely connected with the PNM specially outlines the opposition Rahmat Ali encountered from the Muslim League and others in India. Though his role is controversial, K.K.Aziz in his definitive biography as well as in his 4-volume study on the history of the idea of Pakistan tends toward giving him the central position in the origin, development and realization of the idea (Long, p.41).
