San Francisco, CA: Californians, Inc, 1934. 1st Printing. Pamphlet. B&W Illustrations; This is a small format pamphlet with cardstock covers and a stapled binding. The pamphlet is in Very Good condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The pamphlet and its contents are in mostly clean, bright condition. There is one light dent to the front cover of the pamphlet and some light edge wear, and ground-in dirt as well as one light crease to the top front corner. The text pages are clean and bright.. This book has been illustrated throughout with monotone photographs. "For more than a century following the discovery of the PHilippines in 1521 the Spanish south by sea to fnd a North Pacific port of call to break the passage of their galleons to Panama...." (from the introduction). The book starts with a history of the discovery of California, then offers hints on how to reach California by rail then covers most of the interesting districts of the San Francisco Bay region before covering other regions of the state including Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, The Redwood "Empire", Mt. Shasta & Lassen, and more. The end of the booklet discusses times of year to come, and gives information on approximate costs for driving (via auto) and rail. Also includes approximate prices for visits to certain areas away from San Francisco.. Very Good .
