The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. There is rubbing and wear to the spine ends and edges of the book covers. There are ful size pictorial pastedowns to the front and rear book covers along with a paper spine label. The edges of the pastedowns have some rubbing and wear. The text pages are clean and bright. The dust jacket has some fading and toning (especially to the edges and the spine) , along with tears, chips, scratches and general wear and tear. "Bramah attained commercial and critical success with his creation of Kai Lung, an itinerant storyteller. He first appears in The Wallet of Kai Lung which was rejected by eight publishers before Grant Richards published it in 1900. It was still in print a hundred years later.
