The book is in Very Good condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. There is some noticeable creasing to the covers, especially the front cover. The spine of the book has rubbing and some grease pencil marks. Part of the author's name has been rubbed off. The text pages are mostly clean and bright, with toning to the edges of the pages and the edges of the text block due to the acid content of the paper. This copy has an ink stamped signature and inscription of the author on the half title page. This self-published volume contains a series of quatrain style poems all written in Portuguese. Arthur Avila was born in 1888 and immigrated to the United States in the early 1900's. He and his brother Joćo founded the Latin-American Broadcasting Company in the 1930's and ran the first daily Portuguese radio show in California. He delved into Newspaper publishing and editing and was an important person in the Bay Area's Portuguese community. This book was written shortly before his death in 1962. There are only six copies of this book listed in Worldcat.. Very Good .
