As popular history text Taylor's book covers the period from the late Middle Ages to the exile of Napoleon and the invention of the steam engine at a rapid pace with an emphasis as the title suggests in history as the doings of great men (and women). Bound in original illustrated boards slightly worn at the edges and in its original leather spine with gold blind-stamped title. Size 17.5 cm by 11 cm. VG condition with some occasional foxing to the edge of some of the prints. Images available.
