An almanac in French for the year 1800 probably related to the Saxe-Gotha almanac containing details of the royal families of Europe a chronicle of events from July 1798 to July 1799 a history of astronomy essays on the use of sugar and on street lighting a calendar with saints days phases of the moon and key dates in the Jewish year along with both Gregorian and Julian calendars for 1800 tables of weights and measures from a range of countries and a seven-page set of tables on the major cities of the world listing their location in terms of latitude and longitude distances and differences in time from Gotha etc. A fascinating oddity. Size 10.5 by 6.5 cm. All edges gilt. Approximately 250 pages. In stiff red card covers over original paper. No details of publisher. Contents G to VG. Image available.
