LASKEY Captain J.C. - John MURRAY M.D. of Newcastle ( provenance ) - [ ] Napoleon : - A Description of the series of Medals struck at the National Medal Mint by order of Napoleon Bonaparte, commemorating the most remarkable battles and events during his dynasty.

8. London, printed for H.R. Young, 1818, large in-8°, 26,7 x 17,7 cm (large paper copy ), xiii pp + 239 pp , with frontispiece portrait of Napoleon and some wood-engraved vignets in the text. Bound in full Russia leather, both covers with gilt fillets, all edges gilt, with a marbled paper slipcase. Slipcase and binding worn and soiled, spine with some loss of leather and faded gilt lettering, some offsetting of the portrait frontispiece on the title page. Apart from these defects still a reasonably good copy, printed on strong paper. With the ex-libris on the first paste-down of Tom. Cerutti. From the library of John Murray, M.D. at Newcastle, with his silhouet portrait on the second fly leaf, and with an extensive ex-dono note by his heir Mary Harrison, dated Jan. 9th 1834 to Murray's friend William Boyd.. .
