Relié en 3 volumes, Reliure uniforme, demi-toile gris. Nearly complete set of the postwar ( post First World War) Bulletin of the Brussels Musée du Livre. This periodical was devoted to the art of the book. It covers the whole subject : typography, lettering , binding, illustration...Its pre-war publications (before 1914) are rightly famous for the beautiful typographical execution. The project , animated by Henri Liebrecht, could rely on the aid of the main Brussels printing houses, paper and ink suppliers. ( e.g. Imprimerie Goossens, établ. Malvaux ...). They published 4 issues per year ( fascicules ). After the First World War the periodical went into a slow but steady decline. The bulletins, instead of being lavisly illustrated became more and more sobre in illustrations. At first this was balanced with the yearly publications of a portfolio of illustrations. The quality of these portfolios also steadily déclined. This is nevertheless an interesting long run of the postwar bulletin. The first years ( 1924-1927) contained many beatifully executed inserts ( invitations, programs, etc ). Some of these are tipped in at the end of this volume. We join issues N° 2->10 of the second year ( 1923 - 1924), without issue 6, loose as issued, stapled ( some staples rusty). Issue 2 (november 1923) dustsoiled. .
