Der Querschnitt'' was the most sophisticated of the general-cultural, literary and artistic monthlies published in Germany during the Interbellum. Till 1933 it was the platform for left-intellectual and avant-garde orientated artists and writers, with a very international character. The graphic aspect of the periodical was also very important with in each issue photo reproduction of major photographs, and also graphic contributions by George Grosz , Frans Masereel , Picasso, Jean Cocteau. In 1933, issue 4, the periodical was no longer published by Propyläen-Verlag . It came under the influence of the Nazi regime. These issues are very hard to find. Price is for this issue.
