Each volume contains the essays and reproductions of 12 artists. Their names are listed on the spines of the volumes. Each essay is illustrated with b/w text ills, full page photo engravings and a total of 30 original engravings, these interpretation etchings are works of graphic art in themselves and constitute very good examples of the art of engraving in Holland at the end of the 19th century.
