This in turn led to the bankruptcy of the Marseille trading company Lioncy Frères et Gouffre. The company started a lawsuit before the Paris court , not only against Father Antoine de La Valette and his Martinique Jesuits but also against the Paris Jesuits The Court finds only the Martinique Jesuits guilty.
