Dutch language recollections of author's Amsterdam period up till 1940. Max (Marcus) Tak was born from a jewish family at Amsterdam in 1891. After his vocatinal training Max Tak can be considered as the formemost dutch composser and arranger of filmmusic. At the beginning of the second world war he fled for the german oppression and finally arrived at New York in 1943 where he lived up till his death in 1967. He organized, amongst many other things, the first US Tour by the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra in 1947. Good copy, WITH dustjacket. (some minimal fraying to rims of dustjacket).
