Author's personal experiences of his life in dutch colonal and decolonized Indonesia serving as a soldier of the Royal Dutch East Indian Army, K.N.I.L., a p.o.w. on the Burma railroad, serving during the dutch-indonesian dispute 1945-1950. With emphasis however on author's stay on Bali, incl. extensive notes on the artist Arie Smit and his Young Artist group, the population and the island itselves. A very good copy.
