[8]pp. 6 large, almost halfpage plates, depict. various scenes from the Wayang Wong or Wayang Orang Play. The author, a former editor of Sluyter's Monthly, explains and elaborates the origin, history and development of the [javanese] Wayang Wong or Wayang Orang play: the javanese form of theatre where human beings [javanese] act on the stage. Although there is a rubber-stamp of the Official Tourist Bureau at Weltevreden on upper wrap., we are inclined to think that this is an offprint from Sluyter's Magazine. Interesting. A good copy. (vertical centre fold, rubber stamp and signature on upper wrap.).
