MARKHAM, Virgil - Inspector Rusby's Finale: The Albatross Crime Club. Volume 110.

Hamburg, Paris, Bologna, The Albatross, 1933. Scarce publication. Original printed wrappers 286 pp. Venice bookseller label neatly to title page. Booktype print, cut by Linotype Co. Paper from North of Ireland Paper Mill, printing and binding by William Collins, Glasgow. Price on back in Reichmarks, Francs and Lira. A good, clean tight copy. Mild spotting to fore-edges. Tight and clean, not marked, no loss. The Albatross publishing house had a remarkable history in the 1930s (links with Tauchnitz). These colour-coded paperbacks with their albatross symbol influenced Allen Lane in the design of Penguin Books. The name Albatross was chosen as it was similar in many languages. See "Strange Bird" Michele K Troy, 2017.
