. Pp. xviii, 569, appendixes pp. cxliv. With three large folding maps by James Wyld, 15 full page etchings and many illustrations in the text. The maps are of the world, Tasmania and New South Wales. Later half green calf, spine gilt with five raised bands and title label, extremities somewhat rubbed. Bookplate. Some light foxing. This narrative is based on the author's journal kept during his six years of travels. He visited most of the Australian colonies and Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania), made natural history observations and collected a variable herbarium which was sent to Kew.
