Xxiii, 526 pp. 505 ills. 8vo, top-edge gilt, gilt titles, red pictorial cloth with white, black, gilt decorations. A lovely copy in original cloth with no significant flaws, no repairs. Cloth and decorations very bright and fresh, no staining, no owner's name. Light wear to extremities, slight fading to spine. A very attractive copy. Includes the extra chapters on "The Serious and Fatal Blows", etc. that were removed from later editions. The photos in this edition seem to be clearer than in the later reprints. As well, this edition is printed on heavier stock. A very desirable copy of this seminal work on judo/jiu-jitsu. Scans available. Very Good.
