An account of Mr. Ward's experiences under the drug LSD and of his conclusions from those experiences. He took the drug on six occasions, under the supervision of a medical psychiatrist, and each occasion forms the substance of one of the book's chapters. Mr. Ward draws a distinction between the fact that adrenochrome occurs in the mystic's own body, whereas mescalin, though chemically akin, is an addition from without.
