Included in the 1934 collection of essays Pieces sur l'art, this letter addressed to the director of the Revue de Philologie francaise reflects Paul Valery's (1871-1945) later interest in linguistics as is relates to problems of the nature of genius and the creative process. With two proof copies dated 9 Mars and 25 Avril 1928 laid-in. From the collection of Edouard Champion.

Shipping Terms: WITHIN THE USA the minimum charge for shipping and handling is $5.00. In the absence of specific instructions from our client we will offer the least expensive shipping option that will in our judgment provide adequate security and insurance. We recommend USPS Media Mail only for parcels valued less than $300. We prefer to ship all domestic parcels valued at $1000 or more via USPS Priority, Registered and fully insured. We will gladly accommodate parties with a FEDEX or UPS account who wish to assume the shipping charges.

For OVERSEAS parcels the minimum charge for shipping and handling is $12. In the absence of specific instructions from our client we will offer the least expensive shipping option that will in our judgment provide adequate security and insurance. Flat-rate priority envelopes will only be used for pamphlets, and small-format, slender volumes valued less than $150. Parcels valued above $300 require insurance, and must be shipped via USPS Priority or Express mail. Parcels valued at $1000 or more will be shipped via USPS Registered Mail (most secure) or Express. We encourage our overseas clients prior to placing orders to inquire regarding shipping options for valuable parcels.
