Les Amis d'Edouard was started in 1911 when the publisher and bibliophile Edouard Champion decided to publish a study by Maurice Barrès in a small edition, expressly for his friends. By 1933 the editions of Les Amis d'Edouard ran to over 165 titles, always printed on fine paper and generally limited to 200 or so copies. With original numeration slip laid-in.
