London, W.Strange, 21 Paternoster Row. c.1847 - 1851. 4pp. Half-page B/W lith. of two ovalled portraits of Jenny Lind, the Swedish nightingale, and Marietta Alboni, the Italian contralto who studied with Bertoletti, & so impressed Rossini that he taught her the contralto roles in his operas. Alboni was a rival attraction to Jenny Lind at Her Majesty's Theatre in 1847. Sang at Rossini's funeral with Patti. Alboni was one of the greatest contraltos in operatic history. Part of the Musical Bouquet Series. A few tape repairs to edges. Spine taped. Some slight foxing. Includes arrangements of the famous contralto arias Oh! Quante Lagrime (from La Donna del Lago by Rossini), Non piu Mesta (from Cenerentola by Rossini), Il Segreto (from Lucrezia Borgia by Donizetti), Ah Quel Giorno (from Semiramide by Rossini), & Tocchiamo, Beviam (from La Gazza Ladra by Rossini).
