London: Published by order of the trustees of the National Gallery, 1958. 2 volumes, both first editions. Folio, c. 500pp. 410 b&w plates and 24 colour plates. Original blue cloth, dustwrapper. Volume 1 has some foxing to the endpapers and the edges of the text block, and a bookplate to the front pastedown, but the books themselves are generally in very good condition. The dustwrappers have some light wear (edges frayed, a couple of short closed tears). Volume 1 covers A-M; volume 2 covers N-Z.
