New York, Random House. 1967, 1st Edition. Original black and silver lenticular printing illustrated boards (3D effect) with silver lettering on spine. Boards are very bright and square with great depth illusion. Contributions by Andy Warhol, Stephen Shore, Billy Name, Nat Finkelstein and others. Pop-ups, fold-outs, affixed items and black-and-white photographs. The balloon, as always, is not present but left very little melting traces. All other objects are present and in fine condition: 1) a pop-up castle, 2) a fold-out accordion (does not squeak),3) a pop-up airplane, 4) a spring-mounted Chelsea Girls disc, 5) a dodecahedron paper sculpture, still attached, Pages between which the object was inserted were roughly opened resulting in small damage to the right side of the page, 6) Lou Reed flexi-disc, still attached, 7) a fold-out sheet with rainbow nose and overlays, 8) a pop-up Hunt's Tomato Paste can, 9) all 8 tear-outs 'For a big surprise'. Black-and-white photographs. A superb copy, rare in this condition. Near Fine.
