Paris: Librairie Artistique (G. Boudet), 1896. With 75 full-page original color lithographs by Lunois and 75 wood-engraved borders after drawings by Lunois. Signed below the justification by Lunois and Piazza. From a total edition of 210 numbered copies, this is one of 150 on specially-made wove paper, watermarked with the initials of the artist and the translator. One of the great fin-de-siecle illustrated books, and one of the first publications which can rightly be called a "livre d'artiste". Ray 310. Folio. Original wraps, in the original folder with a gilded embossed medallion. Entirely uncut and unopened. Wrappers slightly discolored by contact with folder (recently, both have been professionally deacidified). Internally perfect. An outstanding copy.
