Hanabusa ItchŠ英 ä¸€è¶ - Gunchö Ga-Ei. 群è¶ç”»è‹±

1778. [EHON] Hanabusa ItchŠ英 一è¶, (1652 - 1724) artist. GUNCHÔ GA-EI. 群è¶ç”»è‹±. Edo, Mankyûdô Hanabusa Heikichi, An-ei 7 [1778]. Gappon, bound three vols in one, in original covers and printed title label, string-bound, Japanese-style, fukuro toji. 17.6 X 25.9 cm. Well-printed b+w woodcut images interpreted by Suzuki RinshŠ鈴æoe¨é„°æ¾ after designs by the estimable ItchÅ, all of whose books are posthumous. In a light and quick style. This is a pleasant early impression. The copy at Ryerson 329 was published by Yamashiroya Sahei. Our copy, though it shares the same date of publication, was published by Mankyûdô [Hanabusa Heikichi], a relatively obscure firm in Edo, active at the beginning of the 19th century. I would assume this to be an early reprint. Slight wear to the covers, but overall in good or better condition. A lovely and scarce work. In a clamshell case with leather label. From the Arthur and Charlotte Vershbow collection. .
