Near fine, small 1/8 inch chip to bottom of spine, front corners slightly creased and one 1/8 inch closed tear to front fore-edge. Interior age-toned at edges but fine, tight. Hundreds of illustrations in black and white: magical seals, signs and diagrams. Originally published in Stuttgart in 1849; popular in Germany during the latter nineteenth century. Texts that purport to explain the magic used by Moses (to part the Red Sea, for example).
