Unpaginated, complete, A6 - 5E6. Thick 4to. old calf, raised bands, rules stamped in blind on boards. Front board detached. Boards and spine slightly chipped. Block sound, top corner slightly bumped. Front flyleaf and first blank page detached, laid in; early ink ownership on first blank recto. Cotton was a translator of John Calvin, and this work is dedicated first to "..The Sons of Levi: Namely, the Reverend Clergy of the Church of England.. this his long-since vowed, and now devoted service;" and subsequently to The Right Honourable Thomas Lord Coventry, Baron of Alsborough, Lord Keeper of the Great Seale of England (armorial crest on facing verso). With woodcut initials and headpieces in the introductory matter. Triple columns. Scarce. .
