A beautiful volume, among 50 full page illustrations of paintings, the 18 color woodblock plates represent the height of the printer's art. The color plates and the many gravure plates as well are guarded with lettered tissues giving a scholarly commentary in both Japanese and English, including dimensions and ownership. Given the high standards of KOKKA's scholarship and connosseurship, as well, this is an important work for the serious student as well as the general reader and lover of Japanese art. Near fine and extremely attractive overall.
