(Blue lozenge shaped title shield on upper cover, gilt. (XVI, 36 pp.). (Ex libris on upper paste down: 'Met 'n handvol macht komt men verder dan met 'n zak vol recht' Jean Grand Jean Perrenod Comtesse.). (Bottom of printed title the small circular library stamp of CK [Christiaan Kramm].) NNBW vol. I, c. 117 - 119: Haarlem 1590 - 1632. Famous for his description of the city of Haarlem [the book which also incorporates Scriverius' support for Coster as the inventor of printing]. Equally known for his unrelenting anti papist pamphlets, an example of which is offered here.: Knuttel, Pamphlets, vol. I, part 2, item 4114. Signed at the end with Ampsing's device 'Het oog om hoog' [the eye upwards].: Van der Wulp vol. I, 2149: On the upper paste down some annotations in ink, end of 19th c. 'Zeldzaam en eenig in zijn soort.' From the library of Christiaan Kramm, painter, architect and art historian, with his woodcut collector's mark, see Lugt vol. I, 585. Kramm is especially know for his biographical dictionary of painters etc. 'Levens en Werken der Hollandsche en Vlaamsche Schilders'. His library was sold 7 - 15 december 1875, the year of his death, at Beijers, Utrecht.
