Ellis, Manager, 1914-1915. 1914-1915. - Octavo, 8-1/2 inches high by 5-5/8 inches wide. 24 programs bound together without the original wraps into three-quarter black morocco & marbled boards. The covers are detached with the leather chipped at the corners. The bottom half of the spine is lacking. The contents consist of 1,478 consecutively numbered pages. A number of pictorial black-and-white ads are included; however, the 14-16 pages of ads at the end of each program were not bound in. There is some soiling to the blank endpapers else the contents are clean and in very good condition. This volume includes the programs for 24 concerts from October 16, 1914 through May 8, 1915 with historical and descriptive notes throughout by Philip Hale. The volume includes 16 pages of highly useful indexes and summaries at the end. Karl Muck was music director. Among the soloists featured in these concerts were pianists Harold Bauer, Leonard Borwick andOssip Gabrilowitsch. Singers included Elena Gerhardt, Florence Hinkle, Julia Culp and Pasquale Amato. Violinists who performed as soloists included Sylvain Noak, Anton Witek and Fritz Kreisler. Cellists included Pablo Casals, Josef Malkin and Heinrich Warnke. Good .
