Bullen, Frank Thomas (1857-1915). British author and novelist. - Autograph Letter Signed by the British Author of Seafaring Novels Frank Thomas Bullen. London, U.K.: July 4, 1901. 1901. - More than 50 words penned on one side of a folded sheet of personalized letterhead with Bullen's 89 Barry Road, S.E. address and the Bullen family crest printed in raised type at the top. Measuring 6 inches high by 3-3/4 inches wide, the letter is addressed to the young son of lecture tour manager James B. Pond. Bullen writes that upon meeting him, young Pond "made me forget today that I'm a grandfather". He presents the boy with an inscribed book. The letter is darkened, with a crease to the top right corner. The letter has been folded. Good. Frank Thomas Bullen (1857-1915) went to sea at the age of 12 and worked in various capacities. He wrote numerous novels about the seafaring life including the classic work "The Cruise of the Cachalot: Round the World After Sperm Whales" (1898). Good .
