Letter of acknowledgment printed on a sheet of Library of Congress letterhead with an engraving of the library at the head of the sheet. Cowell's address and the details of the material received have been filled in by a third party. Signed "Archibald MacLeish" at the foot of the document. The document has been folded 3 times for mailing & its bottom righthand corner is creased. Very good.

Composer Henry Cowell is thanked for sending "your original autograph manuscripts (scores) in pencil of: 'Symphony in B minor (1918,' / 'Slow jig for chamber orchestra (1933,' and a negative photostatic copy of your autograph score of your Irish suite (1929) for string - piano and chamber orchestra." The letter is addressed to Cowell as "Senior Music Editor, Office of War Information, New York, N.Y."
