The binding is rubbed & the covers are bumped with a tiny black stain to the front cover; the head & tail of the spine are lightly chipped & the titling is slightly faded. xv & 360 pp. The book is cracked at the half-title; there is an owner's ink name & address dated 1863 on the front endpaper; a B&W illustration titled "Henderson House" has been mounted on the front pastedown; the prelims are foxed & there is occasional light foxing throughout. Illustrated with B&W textual illustrations from sketches by Mendelssohn & with music staves. Good. First American edition. Good .
