A reprint edition of Mr. Caldwell's rollicking, humorous novel, featuring eccentric Southern farmers. This work was so controversial that it was banned in Boston and New York, and the author was arrested for disseminating 'pornography'. With a new foreword by the author. Volume wrapped in olive rental library wrapper (inside the Modern Library jacket). Jacket with chips, tears and soiling but mostly intact and in removable mylar protector.
