Basel - Wien - M. Ostrau: Atrium,1935.FIRST EDITION of Erich Kästner's classic Children's book, which is the sequel to his earlier Emil and the Detectives. Like his other books written during the time of the Third Reich, this book was published in Switzerland. One of the last German books illustrated by Walter Trier prior to his emigration. 195x155mm, 252 pages. Illustrated board hardcover, with redone cloth spine and back cover. Front cover slightly worn and lightly stained. Pen inscription on front cover. Cover edges and corners slightly bumped. Pages slightly yellowing, with few humidity stains.
