Ca. 42 x 31 cm. Van Braam (1737-1803) wrecked with the frigate Huis in het Bosch, captain H.C. Steenis, on the Moorish coast on December 1751. After spending almost a year in slavery, he returned to Holland. He became a servant of the Dutch East India Company during the years 1764-1795.
