Covers are worn, with splitting to cloth around spine and a lot of rubbing to cloth - titling on spine is just visible. Binding is loose but secure. Previous owner's inscription on first blank page, occassional markings internally, generally clean. 271 pages plus 20 page appendix ('containing curious and interesting information'), plus contents pages. Second edition, revised and greatly enlarged. This is the first volume of two, the second covering the period 1707 to 1845. Fair.
