A very good original green cloth binding. Front board with blind stamp decoration (highlighted in black) and gilt title. The spine with similar decoration and titles. The rear board just with blind stamp decoration. Corners bumped. Original yellow endpapers. Small yellow booksellers label to top corner of the verso of the front board: "John McCallum. Bookseller. Religious Inst. Rooms 75 St. George's Pl. Glasgow." Smudged dedication to front free-endpaper (possibly dated 1875) . Engraved frontis, printed title and a further 4 full-page engravings in the text. Clean text throughout with light spotting towards the end. A well preserved little book.
