THE GLENDALE NEWS - The Glendale News, May 29, 1919 Issue of the Glendale, Oregon Newspaper

Glendale, Oregon, The Glendale News. 1919. First 2 pages only of the May 29, 1919 newspaper, which was probably the predecessor of the later "Glendale Log". Size: 18" wide by 24" high. Stories include "Airplanes to Visit Glendale", about the Oregon Aero Club looking for a landing site between Sacramento and Portland; "Salesman Gets in Bad" (he "tarried too long over a bottle of booze" and in a crazed condition attacked someone with a knife). Also, local news, and state & world news summarized on page 2. Page 2 also has a serialized chapter from "The Son of Tarzan", by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Edges are creased and tattered, with small, newer clear tape repairs around the edges of page 2. Paper is a bit browned, but perfectly legible. Poor. Address sticker (Mrs. Wm. Spiker) at top of front page.
