Among war correspondents in this period Davis had no equal; he was made an honorary "Rough Rider" by the regiment and went into action with them, and in one instance pointed out enemy positions to the Americans. His account of the battle is important. This book contains that and many other accounts of other battles, other wars. a minor old water stain on the front paste-down, else very good .
