Wuppertal, 1948..Hard Cover. Gerhard Nebel (Dessau, 1903-74, Hohenlohe), was a teacher and wrote travel books (An der Mosel, 1948; Phäakische Inseln, 1954; An den Säulen des Herkules, 1957). He was also an amateur cultural philosopher concerned with the regeneration of man and published several volumes in support of his ideas. His original standpoint was classical and aesthetic (Feuer und Wasser, 1939; Griechischer Ursprung, 1948), but his later writings are based on Protestant Christianity. They include Weltangst und Götterzorn (1951), an interpretation of Greek tragedy; Das Ereignis des Schönen (1953); Die Not der Götter (1957); Homer (1959); and Die Geburt der Philosophie (1967)., CLEAN in text. Only mark is stamp on half title page. Light stain on cover as with a small bump on edge. Text in German. Very Good. No DJ as Issued.
