His work therefore contains much more reliable sources and official documents than the works of Dapper and Van Domselaar. - Both volumes with an engraved cicular bookplate of the Amsterdam merchant Hendrik van Couwenhoven (Kalinigrad, 1711 - Amsterdam, 1792) on the first endpaper, depicting the coat-of-arms of the family Van Couwenhove (with a.o. three fleur-de-lys), crowned by a two feathered crest and supported by flora ornaments.
