Folio contemporary calf with 5 raised bands (neatly rebacked with recent black spine titling labels) Rouged red to all edges [14] +300pp (recte 306] Titlepage Vol.II +[10]pp +324pp Titlepage Vol.III +[8]pp + 206pp [recte 225] +[3]pp index +errata + French privilege. Newer endpapers. Vol.I has p306 misnumbered 300; Vol.III p225 misnumbered 206. With a final errata leaf ending "FINIS." Variant 1: privilege leaf ends "Acheue [sic] d'imprimer le 27.iour de May 1634. The devise of the frontispiece (ie.explanation of the meaning of the engraved title) is on the verso of the Engraved title. The engraved title has archival repairs to 1cm corner, & similar to fore margin as well as a small worm track in the ground area. Initials A.R to margin of engraved and printed title also A.Paynter in embellished script. Some worm tracking to lower margin of first part of the first book otherwise a lovely clean crisp copy with the often lost fine Engraved title page with its explanation on the verso present. *A book of behaviour and morals illustrated with stories of examples, including instruction for the married, for parents for children, against anger, fear, sloth,etc.
