Oblong 212x265mm full gilt-decorated green crushed calf with gilt vignette of castle entrance on both covers (leather scuffed, tips & edges worn) All Edges Gilt but worn in places. Text facing plates, a few plates offset onto text leaf, four with mostly marginal damp mark and several with marginal foxing, one (Banchor) with repaired 1" hole/surface scuffing. A few blank guard sheets lost and last 2 text leaves creased. Front inner hinge starting to split but covers well intact. Provenance "Purchased from the late Miss Mannering's sale by Lord Edgerton of Tatton Park on behalf of self ... July 1930 J.Kenneth W. Roberts". *The plates on thicker paper are well printed and show fine country scenes, towns and villages, mansions, romantic ruins and mountains with a few early industrial scenes.
