MARTIN, GEORGE R. R., - The Armageddon Rag.

New York: Poseidon Press, 1983. 1st Edition. 1st edition/1st printing of the trade 1st edition - issued at the same time as the limited edition but both counted as 1sts since they have different ISBNs and are different sizes, bindings, numbers published, etc. SIGNED by the author on a (perhaps supplied and applied by the publisher or author since very professional looking with clear sticky edges all around that fits precisely in the blank area between the book's and author's names and the publisher's name) small plate on the title page. The plate has the author's printed name and photo on it, in addition to his handwritten signature. The book is Near Fine - very tight, clean, no markings other than the author's signature but there are tiny light flecks of offset faded ink from the front flap (before it was put into a clear mylar protector) in a small area on the front end page, a few traces of very tiny dots of slight surface rubbing to the paper-covered boards portion of the back panel, and the spine cloth is a bit 'pushed' at the upper spine end edge. The dustjacket is also Near Fine - price intact, clean, crisp, no fading or soiling, but it has a couple of small nicks at the upper flap fold ends and the same slight 'pushing' at the upper spine end edge that the book has, with just a touch of edgewear to the dustjacket there. If you've only read Mr. Martin's fantasy, you need to give his early sci-fi and/or horror a try - he's excellent at any combination of those two. Though most of his earlier stories really can't be labeled strictly as one genre or the other so I'll just say he's great at speculative fiction in all its varieties. B&W Illustrations; 9-1/2" x 6-1/2"; 333 pages; Signed by Author. NF/NF.
