He was renowned in his day for the Scandinavian subjects he depicted following his trip to Norway and Sweden in 1644.This catalogue of Everdingen's drawings presents 670 authentic water colors, ink drawings and oil sketches on paper in comprehensive, illustrated entries. The accompanying text explores many facets of his activity as a draftsman, including his use of paper, and also discusses later collectors of his sheets, their marks and inscriptions, and many imitations and copies of the master's drawing extant today. High points from Everdingen's production include his trip sketches (both from his travels to Scandinavia and from a trip he made to the Ardennes in 1656), his masterworks showing Dutch scenery, his allegorical series (Twelve Month, Four Seasons and Four Elements) and his studies and transfer drawings for both his Scandinavian landscape etchings and the prints he made to illustrate the fable Reynard the Fox.The volume is an important reference work for all those with a general interest in seventeenth-century Dutch landscape and old master drawings, or with a particular interest in allegorical landscape subjects, book illustration or the Reynard the Fox fable.The author, Alice I. Davies, published an Everdingen monograph and catalogue of the artist's paintings (in collaboration with Frederik J. Duparc) in 2001. Her other publications includes a book on the life and work of Jan van Kessel (1641-1680) and a catalogue of the 16th- and 17th-century Dutch and Flemish paintings at the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts. She was an editor of Shop Talk, the 1995 Festschrift in honor of Seymour Slive.

Books are offered if unsold. The order of incoming orders will be respected strictly.
Orders can be placed via e-mail (info@erik-tonen-books.be), fax, (+32(0)3.23704.27) or in writing, preferably not by telephone.
The books that are offered online are not available at our bookshop at 48 Kloosterstraat.
You will receive an e-mail confirming the availability of the book(s) and providing details with regard to shipment costs (we use Belgian and Dutch postal companies for the most cost-effective shipments.
The indicated shipment costs have been calculated according to the rates for shipments of up to 2 kilo. We will choose the most cost-effective shipment option, depending on the weight: either letter post or parcel post.
Payment must be made before delivery; ordered books will be reserved during 12 days in expectation of payment or confirmation of shipment.
Payment can be made using credit cards (Visa , Mastercard, American Express) or by transferring money to our Belgian bank; KBC 409-8583901-27 or our Dutch bank; Abn-Amro; 42.82.54.535, Payment via Paypal is also possible. account ; erik.tonen@pandora.be
Prices are net prices and free of VAT (margin arrangement) and expressed in euros.
Shipment and payments costs are charged to the customer. Shipment is at the Sender risk.
Each shipment contains a delivery slip.
Ordered books will remain our property until payment has been received.

The state of the books is not specified if the works are in good condtion (smaller, minor defects such as an ex libris stamp, a name on the first page, minimal wear and tear etc. are not specified, unless specifically requested).
If the ordered works do not match the specified description, they may be reshipped within seven days after receipt, after prior notice.

Een E-mail wordt gestuurd ter bevestiging van de beschikbaarheid en met details over de verzendingskosten ( wij maken gebruik van de Belgische en de Nederlandse Post bedrijven. Dus de voordeligste verzending.
De opgegeven verzendkosten zijn berekend volgens de tarieven tot 2 kilo zendingen. Wij opteren voor de voordeligste postzending; Afhankelijk van het gewicht, brievenbuspost of pakket post.
Betaling dient te gebeuren alvorens levering ; de bestelde boeken worden gedurende 12 dagen gereserveerd . in afwachting van de betaling of bevestiging voor verzending.

De staat van de boeken wordt niet gespecificeerd wanneer de werken in goede conditie verkeren (kleinere, niet storende, gebreken zoals een ex-librisstempel, naam op voorblad, minimale slijtage,etc. worden niet vermeld, tenzij op aanvraag).
In geval het bestelde werk niet aan de vermelde beschrijving voldoet, wordt terugzending toegestaan . binnen de zeven dagen na ontvangst en mits voorafgaande verwittiging.

Der Zustand der Bücher wird nicht angegeben, wenn die Werke in gutem Zustand sind (kleinere, nicht störende Mängel wie Exlibris-Stempel, handschriftliche Namenseinträge, geringe Abnutzung werden nur auf Anfrage mitgeteilt).

Falls das bestellte Werk den Angaben nicht entspricht, ist eine Rücksendung innerhalb 7 Tagen nach Erhalt und nach erfolgter Benachrichtigung zulässig.

Les livres présentés en ligne ne sont pas présents dans notre boutique située Kloosterstraat 48.

Un courriel est envoyé pour confirmer la disponibilité des livres et pour communiquer les détails des frais d'envoi (nous avons recours aux services postaux belges et néerlandais). Nous choisissons donc l'expédition la plus avantageuse.

Les frais d'envoi indiqués sont calculés selon les tarifs en vigueur pour les envois jusqu'à 2 kilos. Nous optons pour l'expédition la plus avantageuse ; en fonction du poids, courrier ordinaire ou colis postal.

Le paiement doit être effectué avant livraison ; les livres commandés sont réservés pour une durée de 12 jours, dans l'attente du paiement ou de la confirmation d'envoi.

L'état des livres n'est pas précisé lorsque les ouvrages sont en bon état (les petits défauts non gênants - tels que cachet ex libris, nom sur la page de garde, usure minimale, etc. - ne sont pas mentionnés, sauf sur demande).

Si l'ouvrage commandé ne répond pas à la description donnée, le retour est autorisé dans les sept jours suivant réception et moyennant avertissement préalable.
