How We Process Your Order - Our Commitment to You

Your order is the lifeblood of our business. We treat it as such.

Orders paid by Credit Card will be shipped within two business days and usually within 24 hours.

Orders paid by UK Pound Sterling cheque, International money order in Pounds Sterling or bank transfer will be shipped upon Bank clearance.

As soon as we receive your order, we send you an E-mail confirming that order.

If you are paying by cheque or money order, your order will be placed on hold for up to ten (10) days, awaiting receipt of payment. If payment is not received within that time, the hold will be removed from the item(s) and it will be returned to stock. And we will so notify you.

Such cheques and money orders are only accepted if drawn on UK institutions and are in UK Pounds Sterling.

Current applicable fees will be charged in cases of a returned cheque.

We are committed to giving you Excellent Service. We describe our stock as honestly and completely as possible. If you want a more complete description of any book just let us know, by phone or e-mail. We will gladly send scans of any aspect of the book via E-mail prior to sale.

All books are protected by very thorough and quality packaging.

We accept Sterling Cheques, or Sterling Money Orders provided they are drawn on UK institutions and are in UK Pounds Sterling. They must be made payable to Books at Star Dot Star. We also accept Wire Transfers (contact us for details), and most Credit and Debit Cards.

Please Note:
Under terms of our credit card processing facility we are not allowed to accept credit or debit card orders without the card's three-digit security code or without the credit or debit card billing address. We apologise for any inconvenience but that's the rules we're bound to.

All goods remain the property of Books At Star Dot Star until payment in full is received.

Shipping Policy
All books are sent to UK addresses via First Class surface mail unless requested otherwise, via airmail elsewhere.
All books are shipped within two business days and most within 24 hours.
Postage (and insurance where applicable) will be added to price of larger and heavier books than our average book which is about 1 Kg (about 2.2 pounds). Customers will be advised of total cost before payment is requested and book or books despatched. We provide insurance when appropriate at cost. The check-out page will provide you with the average shipping fee, you will be notified if additional shipping for larger and heavier books is needed.
Sometimes, very heavy books require additional shipping and we will contact you to agree this before a sale is processed.

Customer Service and Returns Policy
Every attempt is made to describe items in our inventory accurately. Those items are therefore fully guaranteed so that if for any reason you\'re not satisfied with the delivered item you may return it for a full refund. In accordance with the UK\'s Distance Selling Regulations (http://www.oft.gov.uk/advice_and_resources/resource_base/legal/distance-selling-regulations/), items may be returned within one week (7 days) for full refund, provided you contact us first for a Return Authorisation Number and return the item properly packed and insured (if of a value greater than £20).
